In June 2001, I photographed these strange faerie lights, (rods? energies?) on my deck at 2:00 am in the morning. I couldn't sleep and decided to go outside and get some fresh air. Mars was very bright in the sky and I decided to try to photograph it with my digital camera (Sony Maciva). I was unable to get it in focus, and while I had my camera directed downwards toward the deck, I saw a series of strange lights pass in front of the black screen. They moved very deliberately, stopping almost as if to peer into my camera lens. I snapped a few frames and although they are hard to see, the lights are there. There seemed to be three of them, or one that was coming closer and stopped intermittently. You can see sort of a vapor trail as it approaches, or leaves? I could not see them with my naked eye, but they were there in the viewfinder of the camera. Do you know what they are? Since they are very small, about a pixel each, I figure they just might be pixies! - Penny
