Gods
or Aliens? You decide.
"The
Lost Book of Enki: Memoirs and Prophecies of an Extraterrestrial God" by Zecharia Sitchin, author of The Earth Chronicles, a series based on the premise
that mythology is fact; that the Bible ought to be read literally as a historic
/ scientific document; and that ancient civilizations were influenced by the Anunnaki,
(Those Who from Heaven to Earth Came.) "The
12th Planet" the first book of the series, presents
ancient evidence for the existence of an additional planet in our Solar System:
the home planet of the Anunnaki. In confirmation of this evidence, recent data
from unmanned spacecraft has led astronomers to actively search for what is being
called "Planet X.'' (Niburu). The latest DNA research has confirmed what many
have know for years, that we are in fact a genetically engineered species, and
the Annunaki are our gods/creators.
Editorial
Reviews - Book Description - Will the past become our future? Is humankind destined
to repeat the events that occurred on another planet, far away from Earth? Zecharia
Sitchin's bestselling series The Earth Chronicles provided humanity's side of
the story-as recorded on ancient clay tablets and other Sumerian artifacts--concerning
our origins at the hands of the Anunnaki, "those who from heaven to earth came."
In The Lost Book of Enki, we can view this saga from a different perspective through
this richly conceived autobiographical account of Lord Enki, an Anunnaki god,
who tells the story of these extraterrestrials' arrival on Earth from the 12th
planet Nibiru. The object of their colonization: gold to replenish the dying atmosphere
of their home planet. Finding this precious metal results in the Anunnaki creation
of homo sapiens--the human race--to mine this important resource. In
his previous works, Sitchin compiled the complete story of the Anunnaki's impact
on human civilization in peacetime and in war from the fragments scattered throughout
Sumerian, Akkadian, Babylonian, Assyrian, Hittite, Egyptian, Canaanite, and Hebrew
sources--the "myths" of all ancient peoples in the old world as well as the new.
Missing from these accounts, however, was the perspective of the Anunnaki themselves.
What was life like on their own planet? What motives propelled them to settle
on Earth-and what drove them from their new home? Convinced of the existence of
a now lost book that formed the basis of ancient Sumerian texts holding the answers
to these questions, the author began his search for evidence. Through exhaustive
research of primary sources, he has here re-created tales as the memoirs of Enki,
the leader of these first "astronauts." What takes shape is the story of a world
of mounting tensions, deep rivalries, and sophisticated scientific knowledge that
is only today being confirmed. An epic tale of gods and men unfolds, challenging
every assumption we hold about our creation, our past, and our future. About
the Author: An eminent Orientalist and Biblical scholar, Zecharia Sitchin is distinguished
by his ability to translate ancient Sumerian and other ancient texts. He is a
graduate of the University of London and worked as a journalist and editor in
Israel for many years. He now lives and writes in New York. January
31, 2002 Reviewer: Monte Farber from NY USA - There are few true geniuses writing
books we can understand and only one writing about a subject so vitally important
to every human being, i.e., we cannot know where we are going if we do not know
where we have come from. Now, thanks to a lifetime of dedication worthy of the
greatest researchers and detectives of all time, all of Zecharia Sitchin's books
and especially "The Lost Book of Enki," are available to provide plausable answers
to the hundreds of questions traditional "science" and "archaeology" and biblical
"scholars" cannot or refuse to answer at all, let alone satisfactorily. I think
I understand why some of his fans are having trouble with "The Lost Book of Enki."
They think they understand his work to the point where having it all presented
in one book, and in a mytho-poetic style, no less, seems to be a rehash of what
they've read. Well, they may be geniuses, themselves, because I've read all of
the books twice and am one of about two dozen alumni of all of Zecharia's far
flung teaching intensives, and yet I feel that I needed to read "The Lost Book
of Enki" to really have a good grasp of the material and to feel it "breathe,"
to be mytho-poetic, myself. What a thrill to finally understand the actual basis
for the seemingly ungrounded words, themes, and stories of the bible. There are
also a few facts mentioned in passing that should have blown the mind of anyone
who has read all the books. It should be realized that NOONE knows Zecharia's
work the way he knows it and anyone who knows him realizes what a gift this book
is to the many people who have literally begged him to put it all together in
one book. So, as they say to anyone considering the study of the Kabalah, make
sure that you are ready to have all of your preconceived notions, especially those
about the bible and our creation, seriously dislodged. If you want the ride of
your life, then read on. I know my life would have been quite the poorer had I
not read all of Zecharia's works, especially "The Lost Book of Enki." December
30, 2001 - Reviewer: Damon L Elkins from USA - Any rating of this book below excellent
must come from a reader who hasn't yet done his/her own research into the redundantly
corroborative evidence which demonstrates that Sitchin's work reveals much of
our religio-mythic lore to be unmistakably based upon fact rather than myth. There
is sufficient information in "The 12th Planet" coupled with aerial views of Giza
on Earth and Cydonia on Mars to significantly link them to sky patterns which
can be overlaid on Cydonia to reveal much of the importance of the "objects" as
markers for a representative celestial sphere upon which is shown the path of
Nibiru. For anyone to dismiss "The Lost Book of Enki" as "only fiction" (or some
other demeaning term) demonstrates an insufficient depth of understanding of the
material as well as the character and scholarship of Zecharia Sitchin so aptly
demonstrated in his earlier books. March
12, 2002 - Reviewer: A Grown Up Human Being from Austin Texas USA - The curious
debate raging throughout this entire series of reviews is a fascinating sociological
document. Let's cut to the chase: Zecharia Sitchin's contribution to the history
of human knowledge ranks with that of the Greek philosophers, Heidegger, and Einstein.
Sitchin deserves multiple Nobel prizes for his work, and any reader not lapsing
into hysterical denial when confronted by Sitchin's hypothesis should, in good
conscience, have dog-earred and well-annotated copies of his ENTIRE output. Indispensable,
also, are NEIL FREER's two superb books analysing of the implications of Zecharia's
thought for those who need help moving to adult consciousness. It is not an easy
task to accept that humanity has been in a state of pandemic, species-wide amnesia-pychosis
for thousands of years regarding human origins. "Mythology" is our greatest myth:
Joseph Campbell couldn't "handle the truth," the so-called "gods" were flesh-and-blood
humanoids who genetically-engineered us as slave-animals. Religion is psychosis.
It's time to deal with the truth, get over it, and move on. Once we stop fighting
each other over which version of the same nonsense will prevail, then we can heal
the planet and have some peace. Get ALL Sitchin and Freer books ASAP. FANTASTIC
EXTRATERRESTRIAL FICTION BASED ON HISTORICAL FACTS, February 27, 2002 - Reviewer:
Tim Acheson from Ware, Hertfordshire United Kingdom - The reader will be aware
that "The Book of Enki" is a fictional ancient Sumerian text and no such artefact
has been unearthed by any archaeological exploration. In this work the author
has skilfully crafted an imaginary ancient record based on available evidence,
and the result is as realistic as we could hope in view of his distinguished experience
in the study and interpretation of ancient writings. The theme of this ancient
fantasy is an autobiographical account by the Sumerian deity, Enki, in which the
enthralling role of the gods in early human history is dramatically portrayed.
The sequence of events is generally in accordance with the authentic historical
record, and entirely consistent with the author's beliefs. The story is easy to
follow, accessible and captivating. The
scholarly reader will be disappointed by the absolute absence of any references
to support the facts. It is impossible to discriminate between the historical
facts in this book and the author's own interpretation, dramatisation or embellishment.
I recommend referring to previous
books by this author, where the established facts presented and referenced to
support the discussion are conclusive in demonstrating the interventionist viewpoint.
In addition, even the less certain interpretations proposed by the author, together
with his own ideas and theories, are both fascinating and entertaining to read
alongside the more serious arguments.
If
you are interested in extraterrestrial intervention theory or alien research,
ancient history or the history of human civilisation, and if you like to read
fiction - especially science fiction - then you will definitely enjoy this book.
